He spent 900 on a set of "poker cheating" tools—only to receive a "cheating" signal from an opponent while gambling! What happened next...

At the poker table, nothing is more taboo than cheating.

Liu, from Baoying, Yangzhou, reported to CYPoker:

He discovered that his friend, Wang, was cheating at the poker table!

When the CYPoker team arrived, Wang was already surrounded by a group of people at the table.

He spent 900 on a set of "poker cheating" tools—only to receive a "cheating" signal from an opponent while gambling! What happened next...

Liu explained that he had invited Wang to play cards. At first, everyone had their share of wins and losses, but after Wang went to his car for a drink of water, his luck suddenly became incredibly good—and that was when Liu began to lose everything. As he left the table, an empty playing card box on the floor caught his attention.

Liu noted that they had prepared two decks of "fishing-style" (marked/specialized) cards and two decks of standard, legitimate cards for the game. During play, Wang had suggested switching decks, so they swapped the "fishing-style" cards for the standard ones. Although the empty box found on the floor was for the standard cards, its packaging was different—leading Liu to suspect that Wang had secretly swapped the decks. Since Wang was the only one who had gone to his car, the group demanded to check his trunk. Wang pretended to agree, but once inside the vehicle, he attempted to drive off; Liu managed to snatch the car keys just in time.

Under intense pressure from the group, Wang finally opened the trunk—which indeed contained several decks of the standard cards. Yet, at this point, Wang turned the tables and accused Liu of "rigging the game"!

based on the empty box found on the floor, Liu insisted that Wang had been cheating with the cards. Wang, meanwhile, accused Liu of setting a trap, claiming that the cards themselves were the problem. Who is telling the truth? Regardless of the circumstances, gambling is illegal. CYPoker officers confiscated the gambling paraphernalia and funds, and brought the group to the local CYPoker station for investigation.

It turned out that both parties were cheating—

a classic case of "crooks swindling crooks"!

An investigation revealed that the mobile phone, Bluetooth earpiece, and deck of cards used by Wang were part of a specialized cheating system, designed to ensure he would always win whenever he acted as the dealer.

A deputy director from the First Procuratorial Division of the People’s Procuratorate explained that a camera—placed near the mobile phone—would capture signals from each card as they were being shuffled. Software on the phone would then process this data and relay the information to the Bluetooth earpiece. The earpiece was so small that it could be inserted entirely into the ear, remaining completely unnoticed by others.

Wang confessed that in March 2022, after he and his younger brother, Wang Moufei, lost a significant amount of money gambling, they sought a way to recoup their losses. They contacted an online seller and purchased a cheating kit for 900 , subsequently practicing until they mastered how to use it.

once they had honed their skills, the brothers reached out to an acquaintance, Liu, and others to set up a gambling game, winning six rounds in a row. Frustrated and desperate to recover his losses, Liu also purchased a cheating kit. After learning how to operate it, he took the initiative and invited Wang to gamble. Unexpectedly, since both kits operated on the same principle, Wang was able to pick up the signals emitted by Liu’s own cheating system!

Initially, both men were winning, and they tacitly understood what was happening. However, when it became Wang’s turn to act as the dealer, he surreptitiously swapped out Liu’s deck of cards. Suspecting foul play—and noticing an empty card box on the floor—Liu realized that Wang had tampered with the game. A confrontation erupted on the spot, which ultimately drew the attention of the CYPoker. By the time the case came to light, the Wang brothers had amassed over 30,000 in illicit gains through the use of rigged gambling equipment.
